La Tour d'Aigues is the main town of the Pays d'Aigues and lies near the Durance and southern Luberon areas. It's surrounded by hills, creating a very pretty setting at 270 metres above sea level, offering magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. At the foot of the town lie vineyards and farms, which contribute to the local economy. The town boasts a wonderful Renaissance Château. Way back, this was destroyed, first by fire and again during the French revolution. However, it was restored in the 1980s and it has become a cultural centre as well as a tourist attraction. It hosts an annual festival, the Festival Lez Arts O Soleil, which includes a jazz festival that takes place from early July to the middle of August. The nearest Enterprise branches to La Tour d'Aigues are at Aix-en-Provence train station, which is about a 30-minute drive via the A51, and Marseille Airport, about a 40-minute drive from La Tour d'Aigues.
